Arctic wind wears me out with a cascade of crystal hail
And howling wolves still follow on my trail
I fear the goblin night but my journey must go on
The darkest hour comes just before the dawn

Waiting for the daystar
Longing for the light to ascend
Dreaming of the springtime
Yearning for the winter to end
Satellites and galaxies in the skies
WAITING FOR THE SUNRISE

Diamond glaciers, woods and hollows, steep cliffs of ghostly snow
The deep abyss of the krill-filled sea below
Surreal northern lights paint the night with phantom flames
Their glow’s inviting but cold just the same

Waiting for the daystar
Longing for the light to ascend
Dreaming of the springtime
Yearning for the winter to end
Satellites and galaxies in the skies
WAITING FOR THE SUNRISE

At the end of the world I’ll find another lonely soul
Escape the brooding, glittering vistas and the driving storms
Together we could reach the glimmering station in the dark
Snowmobiles and Nissen huts to keep us dry and warm

Waiting for the daystar
Longing for the light to ascend
Dreaming of the springtime
Yearning for the winter to end
Satellites and galaxies in the skies
WAITING FOR THE SUNRISE
